# 19 Pleaders

The ¹[State Government], or any person who has made a claim under this Act, may appoint any person to appear, plead and act on its or his behalf before the Forest Settlement-officer, or the appellate officer or Court, in the course of any inquiry or appeal under this Act.

STATE AMENDMENT

Uttar Pradesh

Substitution of new section for section 19.--For section 19 of the principal Act, the following shall be substituted, namely--

"19. Pleaders.--The State Government, or any person who has made a claim under this Act, may appoint any person to appear, plead and act on its or his behalf before the Forest Settlement Officer or the District Judge in the course of any inquiry or appeal under this Act."
